Internet Outage Monitor for Windows

ClumsyLinkWatch · Clumsy's Lab

Prove it wasn't your network.

ClumsyLinkWatch is a Windows desktop tool that watches your internet connection continuously and, when it drops, tells you whose fault it was — your adapter, your router, DNS, or your ISP's last mile — instead of just logging "outage" and leaving you to argue with a support rep who says everything looks fine on their end.

5-rung probe ladder ISP-fault classification HTML & PDF evidence reports Sleep-aware, never a false outage

Why a ping script isn't enough

A single failed ping proves nothing to an ISP, and correctly so — a dropped packet happens on healthy connections too. ClumsyLinkWatch instead runs a five-rung probe ladder every cycle (adapter, gateway, ISP first hop, DNS, and a quorum of independent internet anchors) with confirmation retries before it ever declares something down, so the report it produces can survive an adversarial reader instead of getting waved away as "just a ping script."

ClassMeaningCounts against your ISP?
ADAPTER_DOWN / GATEWAY_DOWNYour cable, Wi-Fi, or routerNo — your fault
LAST_MILE_DOWNISP's first hop unreachableYes — highest evidentiary weight

What you actually get

Fault classification, automatic

Every outage is tagged by whose fault it was, computed live — not something you infer after the fact from a raw log.

HTML & PDF evidence reports

Uptime percentage, "nines," an ISP-attributable outage table, a full timeline, and an appendix of every excluded event — nothing hidden.

Sleep and monotonic-clock aware

A laptop that sleeps for nine hours never shows up as a nine-hour outage. Durations use a monotonic clock, never wall-clock math.

Live dashboard

A status card that reads at a glance from across the room, a time-proportional timeline, and a 14-day latency trend chart.

Alerts that don't spam

Native desktop notifications and Discord/Slack-compatible webhooks fire on real faults — not on DEGRADED noise or sleep gaps.

Starlink & dual-WAN aware

Real dish telemetry for Starlink users, and public-IP-change tracking that turns a WAN failover into a measured event with a duration.
